Episode 9: Jeremy Beck

Welcome to Sixteen! For this episode, my guest Jeremy Beck and I talked about just about everything under the sun. From private school to religion, from addiction to theatre, we have it covered. Thanks so much to Jeremy for being on the show. He's a natural storyteller, and I'm thrilled to have had him as a guest.

Episode 8: Greg

Welcome to Sixteen! For this episode my guest was Greg (who didn't wish to include his last name in this production). Definitely an interesting guy, this episode was a cavalcade of punk rock, sex shops, and everything in between as we talked about growing up in Eastern PA in the eighties. Enjoy!

Episode 7: John Reedy

Welcome to Sixteen, everybody! This week my guest was John Reedy, a friend of mine who talked with me about growing up in a rural community and being a family caretaker, as well as bullying, sexuality, arts and crafts, and a little bit of pretty much everything else. I'm so glad I was finally able to get John on the podcast and I hope you all enjoy the episode.

Welcome to Sixteen, everybody! I'm so excited to bring you this episode with my guest Cara Lamberson! Cara and I sat down recently to talk about growing up in a repressive environment, espescially in dealing with sexuality and authority. I am so glad that Cara volunteered their time to be a part of this podcast, and feel that besides getting a fantastic episode I also made a great friend. Enjoy!

Welcome to Sixteen, everybody! I'm so glad to bring you all this episode with my guest, Keegan Hoppes. This was a blast to record and I hope you all have as much fun listening to it as we had recording it. Enjoy!

Welcome back to Sixteen! I twisted the format a little this week. Instead of my usual interview I did a roundtable discussion with Eleny Sansone and Julia Kazor about growing up in the same area, at the same school, but seven years apart. Enjoy!

Episode 3: Joy Bowers

Welcome to Sixteen, everybody! For this episode, my friend Joy Bowers talked with me about growing up in a rural town, relationships, family, abortion and so many other things that made for one of the most insightful conversations I've had with anyone. I am so glad that Joy chose to be on the podcast; she is one of my dearest friends in the world and her story was truly luminous. Thanks to Joy for being on the show, and thank you all for listening.

Welcome to Sixteen, everybody! For this episode I interviewed Tiffany Sowers about cop-like dads, anarchist circus performerers and "straight edge" culture before we even knew what that meant. Tiffany is one of the coolest people I've talked to in a long while and I'm so excited that she agreed to be on the show. We were both a little nervous going into the interview, but the apprehensiveness disappears almost immediately (with the help of a few beers) as we get into the conversation. Enjoy!

Episode 1: Ashlie Kenny

Welcome to Sixteen, the podcast that wants to know who you were at sixteen years old. I wasn't really sure how this episode was going to turn out, and initially intended for it to be a sort of practice run until I had figured out the format a little more. So I sat down with my good friend, Ashlie Kenny, to work through the show's fledgling adolescence and from the moment the mics stopped recording I could not wait to post it. This conversation was incredibly powerful and I can not think of a better way to kick off what I hope will be a long running series of wonderful episodes. Thanks so much to Ashlie for being on the show, and thank you all for listening.
